Our congregation provides a number of outreach and ministry programs.
Community Breakfast
In conjunction with Lydia's Closet, grace offers a free community breakfast the 2nd Sunday of every month. This is a special ministry of the congregation that provides a free breakfast to the community. People from all walks of life choose to spend their mornings together. We break bread and share fellowship. In addition, Lydia's Closet (see below) is open during the Community Breakfast, and we also offer free blood pressure checks, and an opportunity to share in the Holy Communion from our previous worship service.
Lydia's Closet
In addition, Lydia's Closet is open during the Community Breakfast which provides clothing and related items to those who need them, free of charge. If you would like to know more about the Community Breakfast and Lydia's Closet, including how to donate, please contact the church office at 727-446-5026. Because we have received a huge donation of clothing recently, we do not need anything in the line of clothing right now. What we always need are underwear (new), socks (new), travel size toothpaste, hand sanitizers, tissue, toothbrushes, small body lotions and shampoo.
We began a relationship with neighboring Sandy Lane School several years ago to help children to have a positive experience with their education.
We collect items in two categories: clothing; ponchos, shoes, belts, underwear, socks, boys' pants and polo shirts and sweatshirts, and School Supplies; pencils, notebooks, folders, crayons, glue sticks, blunt scissors, highlighters, and colored pencils.
Members have been very generous in donating these items, as well as money to purchase additional items as needed. We will be having another collections drive for school supplies in early august, in which we invite your donations.
Haven House and Kimberly Home
These two service centers help women in need. Grace Lutheran church often helps by donating supplies and, gift cards, and toys.
